To explain why some of these things are beautiful to me would take days and frankly I don’t even know if I could put it into words. As great as these things are, and as created by God as they are (portraying the very character of God), they are not God. They are nothing compared the matchless and holy name of our God! If nothing compares to HIM, why do we (especially us girls) so often put things such as hair, clothes, and even as far as the shape of our faces as an idol? I wish I knew all the answers to that question. I do know though, that the majority of this comes from our culture (a very cliché, but very true answer). We think we have to be what somebody else’s definition of beautiful is. A definition that is so beyond distorted, people begin to distort themselves. My heart breaks for every girl that faces this struggle. But my heart also desires so much to overcome this same struggle myself, and to show women (and men) all around the world what it truly means to be Biblically Beautiful.
“Character is Beauty”. And who has the most beautiful character of anyone? God! This is what I’m learning and seeking as I’m transitioning from 2010 to 2011. So join me in a journey of and to truth, and let’s learn what it really means to be beautiful.
"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30
